Threads; an app developed by Meta was released in July 2023. Thread is now available for iOS and Android systems around the globe in more than 100 countries. To use this app is very easy, simply connect Instagram account with this new app and enjoy it.
The core purpose of this app is to provide an alternative to Twitter. It allows users to send and share text messages, photos, and videos. It offers features such as disappearing messages, group chats, and a connection to the decentralized social media protocol known as the “fediverse.” Threads are closely linked with Instagram, and users can easily link their Instagram accounts to the new platform.
With Instagram already having two billion monthly active users, Threads has the potential to quickly outstrips Twitter’s 330 million users count. The name “Threads” as the name depicts, is the idea of connecting with friends and family in a personal way.
Unintentionally Threads release when Twitter is already in trouble, and faced backlash for implementing temporary rate limits on tweet views, counting the tweets users can go through. All this already forces Twitter to step back and TweetDeck fades from the scene, resulting in the shifting of their users to Bluesky Private Beta App, which is a Twitter-child that Elon Musk stops feeding.
